CRAFT CLASSES

An opportunity to pass on God's Word

Offering craft classes attracts local women and provides the opportunity to share the message of God's Word. This has been done in Hammanskraal for several years. In Refilwe, the craft classes have been cancelled for a long time due to corona. But the craft classes in Refilwe have also started again this year.

The local women receive a ball of wool every month so that they can make something for themselves or their (grand)children. People regularly ask for more wool, because the women like to work with their hands. The extra ball of wool they receive is intended for the community. Together the women knit and crochet blankets that are then given away to needy people in the community.

During conversations with the women, they express their gratitude towards the sponsors from the Netherlands and Canada. '
We receive wool, crochet hooks, knitting needles and a food package every month.
In this we feel the people's love for us. What can we do in return to show them that we love them?'

In Hammanskraal, Ria Schinkel, one of the members of the congregation in Silverton, arranges the craft classes and also provides a Bible class for these women. In Refilwe, Nieske van den Bogert and Gerda van de Kamp, members of the Silverton congregation, organize the craft class and one of the field workers provides a Bible class for the women.

We pray that the Lord will also use the craft classes to expand His Kingdom.

‘So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.’
